Virgin Voyages MegaRockstar Review 2026

Virgin Voyages is not your traditional cruise line. Designed exclusively for adults, the experience is modern, stylish, and just a little cheeky in all the right ways. They have sleek spaces, immersive entertainment, and a “no buffets, no kids, no kidding” approach that attracts travelers who want something fresh.

Within that already elevated vibes, the MegaRockstar tier takes everything up to a top level. It’s Virgin’s most exclusive suite category (positioned above even their Rockstar status) and includes high-touch perks, luxury suite designs, and VIP access that reshapes what it means to cruise like a celebrity!

MegaRockstar is worth the investment.

MegaRockstar isn’t about having a bigger cabin. It’s about never waiting in line, having every dinner exactly when you want it, walking onto shows while everyone else queues outside, and realizing halfway through the trip you’ve barely had to think.

Your vacation starts before you ever see the ship. Instead of figuring out rideshare pickups or dragging luggage through the terminal, someone is already waiting for you. It’s a small detail, but it immediately shifts your mindset from “travel day” to “vacation.”

I’m a professional travel advisor specializing in modern luxury cruise experiences. I am a Top 30 Virgin Voyages First Mate. I’ve booked in thousands of clients, I’ve been on 22 voyages myself, and have sailed in MegaRockstar several times personally. When I first boarded Virgin Voyages as a MegaRockstar, I expected a nicer suite and the listed perks. What surprised me was how much the small conveniences changed the entire sailing experience. I’ll tell you all about that!

If you’re just cruise-curious or already eyeing a future sailing, this guide is here to help you navigate what the MegaRockstar experience really looks and feels like – without the fluff.

Before You Book MegaRockstar

Virgin Voyages MegaRockstar is a real investment over a Sea Terrace or standard Rockstar cabin. You need to decide how much a larger space and the perks matter to you—and honestly, how much time you’ll actually spend on the ship.

MegaRockstar isn’t just a bigger cabin. It’s waking up every morning knowing you don’t have to think about reservations, bar tabs, laundry, or whether you’ll get a good seat at a show. After my first sailing, I realized I’d spent an entire week simply enjoying vacation instead of planning it. That’s what you’re really paying for.

But MegaRockstar shines only if you’re spending serious time aboard. If you’re doing a port-intensive itinerary where you’re maximizing shore activities, save MegaRockstar for a more relaxing cruise with sea days built in. That’s when you’ll actually use it.

The MegaRockstar Package: A Step Above Rockstar

MegaRockstar changes the entire vacation experience.

MegaRockstar Sailors receive everything included in the standard Rockstar package, plus a long list of upgraded perks that boost the convenience and luxury across every part of the sailing. Here’s what sets MegaRockstar benefits apart from Rockstar benefits:

  • Top-tier suites on Deck 15, closest to The Galley and Aquatic Club
  • Bottomless in-room mini bar, refreshed daily
  • Unlimited drinks across the ship (up to $25 per drink, two at a time)
  • Two bottles of wine per day under $90
  • Work from Sea Wi-Fi, including streaming and video calling on two devices
  • Daily laundry and pressing service, delivered straight to your suite
  • Dining from nearly all restaurants delivered to your room (excluding Gunbae and The Test Kitchen)
  • Full access to the spa’s thermal suite during operating hours
  • MegaRockstar agent service (Virgin Voyages butler service)
  • Private transfer to the ship or free parking at select ports (up to 50 miles)
  • Priority access to shore excursions, restaurant reservations, and exclusive invite-only experiences like The Tentacle Tour or Bridge Tours (shh!)
  • Richard’s Retreat at Bimini Beach Club, with private golf cart transportation

These are the perks already included in the Rockstar package:

  • Priority boarding – no crowds, no waiting in the heat. You are dropped right in front of the private Rockstar entrance as the brand rolls out the red carpet with drinks, snacks, and smiles waiting in the Rockstar lounge
  • Priority access to onboard entertainment – no queuing an hour early to see the hottest show
  • Access to Richard’s Rooftop with happy hour social every evening, for fun and good company (or the start a relaxing evening – whatever you make it!)
  • Richard’s Retreat at Bimini Beach Club, with private golf cart transportation – VIP on the beach

This isn’t a “maybe you’ll get it if you ask” situation. These perks are built into the MegaRockstar category, and they’re offered consistently across the four suite types.

Virgin Voyages MegaRockstar vs Rockstar: Is the Upgrade Actually Worth It?

So, you’re asking yourself “Is MegaRockstar worth it?”

The regular Rockstar perks are great. The MegaRockstar perks are even better. MegaRockstar is worth the investment.

When I sail MegaRockstar, the service doesn’t just meet expectations – it catches me off-guard. The service on Virgin Voyages is consistently fantastic, but it’s kicked up a notch with this experience.

What’s so great about MegaRockstar is that you will stop thinking about prices altogether. After the first day I stopped thinking about prices of anything. Instead of debating whether another cocktail was worth it, I’d simply order whatever sounded good.. If a friend wanted to try an expensive whiskey or cocktail, I’d order one for them too. That freedom sounds small, but after a lifetime of mentally calculating vacation expenses, it feels incredibly luxurious.

MegaRockstar vs. Rockstar: Is the Upgrade Actually Worth It?

For me, yes—but probably not for the reasons you’d expect.

Virgin’s regular Rockstar experience is already excellent. MegaRockstar takes away even more friction.

After the first day, I stop thinking about what things cost.

If I want another cocktail, I order it. If a friend wants something, I’ll grab one for them too. There’s no mental tally running in the background while I’m supposed to be on vacation.

The Work from Sea Wi-Fi is genuinely important for me because I often need to check in with clients while sailing. Being able to answer emails from my suite without sitting around waiting for pages to load makes a huge difference.

Then there’s laundry. I can pack so much lighter.

My personal experiences – the perks I use most:

  • Unlimited drinks across the ship, and I get drinks for other people
  • Work from Sea Wi-Fi – genuinely necessary unless you enjoy waiting for pages to load. I’m usually checking in with clients while I’m sailing. With MegaRockstar Wi-Fi, I can answer emails from my balcony with a coffee in hand while the ocean rolls by. Instead of worrying whether Zoom will disconnect, I forget I’m even on ship internet.
  • Daily laundry so I can pack light and rewear simple pieces, like PJs and bathing suit cover-ups. Plus, coming home with a suitcase full of clean clothes instead of vacation laundry is an after-trip feeling that just can’t be beat
  • Late-night pizza delivered to my cabin (that late-night pizza hits, and why wait 20+ minutes with the crowd when it can be waiting for you with soda?! The sight of the pizza waiting for you when you open your suite door is pure indulgence)
  • Other snack deliveries: cheese platters from Extra Virgin, guacamole from Pink Agave, gummy bears
  • Richard’s Retreat at Bimini Beach Club with private golf cart. This is key if a Caribbean rainfall passes through, since the main beach club has almost no cover. Been there! The chairs are also much nicer in the retreat versus general beach club area

MegaRockstar Perks that are not essential for me:

  1. Bottomless in-room bar: The bar is ideal if you want to host or are particular about the way your drinks are made. But, I don’t feel like drinking in my room and I’m not going to take the energy to make my own drinks. I’d rather just get them at the bar (Mr. Reddy at Sip hooks it up!)
  2. The unlimited spa pass: Though I do like to relax in the spa, it’s usually a one-time event per voyage. There’s even been times I’ve sailed MegaRockstar and never even went into the spa. It’s just not something I prioritize on a busy vacation. (Plus, I can better afford MegaRockstar on shorter voyages!)
  3. Richard’s Retreat at Bimini Beach Club: Sometimes I do go out to the retreat in the morning, but I prefer to hang with the pool crowd in the afternoon
  4. Private car service transfer to and from the ship – yes, I utilize the service but I am cool taking Uber on my own. Of course, I’d rather have the black car, though!
  5. Priority booking for shore excursions: I tend to plan more last minute

As I’ve explained, I use some of the MegaRockstar perks perks but not all of them to the max. Still, the butler-style service of the agent, as well as the service around the ship, is very special and can’t be purchased separately, like Work from Sea, spa access, drinks, laundry, and car service.

Virgin Voyages MegaRockstar included car transfer. Luxury car interior with quilted brown leather seats and a Cadillac steering wheel during a private transfer.

The Access to a MegaRockstar Agent Sells Me

The best part about the MegaRockstar experience is having access to your dedicated onboard agent, similar to a butler at high-end resorts. I’ll share a few examples of the incredible service I’ve received:

The real differentiator is the MegaRockstar agent service. Always reachable. Anything I want handled. When mine was off duty, someone filled in. Shout out to David!

I’ve had butler service on other cruise lines and at all-inclusive resorts. I have never had such fantastic service as I’ve had by the MegaRockstar agents (also known as Virgin Voyages butlers) on Virgin Voyages.

Examples of service I didn’t anticipate – but Virgin did:

On one of my caribbean voyages, my MegaRockstar agent noticed that I was really only drinking KetelOne spritz. Not only did he restock the fridge, but he brought me about ten more lining up the bar. Way too much for me to drink but I had so much to share!

On a Bimini day, my group stayed until closing and took a private golf cart back from the beach club. We hit a long line waiting to board. I got in line like everyone else. Then, I heard my name. It was the Rockstar manager. She confirmed it was me, and asked me to follow her onto the ship – bypassing around 30 people in the process. She’d known I was the only MegaRockstar still off the ship and was waiting to escort me back. That’s service.

I remember walking past everyone in line thinking, ‘Okay…this is yet another reason why people pay for MegaRockstar!”

During dinner, a friend couldn’t handle the boat’s motion and headed back to his cabin. Our server noticed and asked if we wanted the steak he ordered sent to the cabin instead. He wasn’t even MegaRockstar, but that’s the table service you get when someone at your table has MegaRockstar status. Steve enjoyed it in his cabin. Outside of MegaRockstar, sailors cannot get restaurant food delivered to the cabin.

Inside the MegaRockstar Suites: 4 Lavish Options

All four MegaRockstar suite types share the same elevated service and MegaRockstar perks perks, but the layouts, vibe, and square footage vary quite a bit. From bold and sprawling to sleek and intimate, each suite has its own personality.

Rockstar suites don’t feel like cruise cabins. They’re designed like high-end city apartments you’d see in a magazines … except they’re larger than many big city apartments!

Here’s my Virgin Voyages suite review, starting with the most iconic.

Massive Suite

There is only one Massive Suite onboard, and it sure is special! At 2,147 square feet, the Massive Suite is the largest and most theatrical accommodation onboard. More than a cruise cabin, it feels like a high-rise penthouse crossed with a backstage lounge. The layout is expansive, the design is bold, and the outdoor space alone could host its own party.

The terrace features a private hot tub, oversized loungers, and panoramic ocean views that make it hard to justify leaving the suite at all. Inside, the space is built to impress. You’ll find a record player, electric guitar, and full music setup (yes, they work!).

The main living area is outfitted with plush and low-profile furniture perfect for relaxing or entertaining. There’s a huge circular couch surrounding a table, which is great for hosting with snacks.

The bedroom is partially separated for privacy and the bathroom is large enough to feel like a spa in its own right, complete with a rainfall shower, mood lighting, and a fully lit vanity.

The suite also has clever design touches like sliding partitions, under-bed lighting, and USB/plug access in all the right places. If you’re traveling as a pair or with friend), there’s more than enough space to spread out or host.

One of the first things I noticed entering the Massive Suite is the telescope front and center. I’m not much of a stargazer, but it’s pretty cool to be able to use it in your own cabin.

I cannot stress how absolutely incredible this suite is. If you’re hosting a large group, like for a birthday party, I highly recommend splurging on the Massive Suite. You won’t regret it!

Expansive private cruise ship terrace with circular purple seating loungers and a hot tub overlooking the Manhattan skyline. The outdoor space is part of a Virgin Voyages Mega RockStar suite.

Fab Suite

The Fab Suite hits a sweet spot: stylish, spacious, and social without being over-the-top. It’s a mid-size MegaRockstar suite that still feels indulgent, but with a slightly more relaxed layout than the Massive.

At 950 square feet, you get a wraparound terrace with multiple seating zones, so it’s easy to move from morning coffee to sunset cocktails without ever stepping inside. The indoor space blends soft textures, mood lighting, and Virgin’s signature rockstar flair, including a turntable, curated vinyl, and a sleek in-room bar setup.

This suite feels especially well-suited to couples or friends who plan to use the suite for both lounging or entertaining but don’t need the full sprawl of the Massive. I feel this is the most spacious of the suites, without feeling too big for a couple sailing without a group.

One couple I worked with was celebrating their 35th anniversary and debated for weeks whether the Fab Suite was over the top. After the cruise they told me they spent almost every afternoon on the terrace with champagne, watching sailaways instead of fighting for deck chairs. They said it felt like having a private resort attached to the ship, and neither of them regretted splurging.

Posh Suite

The Posh Suite leans modern and minimal in the best way. Bright and glassy with sleek surfaces and mirror accents, this suite feels more like a chic hotel room in a trendy city than a traditional cruise cabin.

The 833-square feet layout includes a generously sized bathroom with a dedicated glam station, perfect for getting ready before dinner or a night out onboard. The indoor living area features plush seating and well-placed lighting that makes the whole space feel fresh and open without sacrificing comfort.

It’s a great choice for travelers who prioritize style, natural light, and a streamlined layout over size alone.

The Posh Suite is typically the level I recommend to my luxury honeymoon clients or wedding anniversary clients. It’s great for celebrating something special.

I recommended the Posh Suite to a honeymoon couple who wanted something that felt luxurious but still made financial sense. After their sailing, they told me they spent more evenings on their private terrace than anywhere else on the ship. Room service, a bottle of champagne, and watching the sunset together became their nightly routine. They said it felt like having their own private retreat while still enjoying everything Virgin Voyages has to offer.

Gorgeous Suite

At 570 square feet, the Gorgeous Suite is the most compact of the MegaRockstar offerings but still delivers the full VIP experience. It’s great for couples who want all the elevated perks without needing a sprawling layout.

The suite includes a private terrace, a rainfall shower, and a well-designed living area with chic, low-slung furniture that keeps the space feeling modern and airy. Virgin’s signature mood lighting, curated mini bar, and luxe textiles are all here – just in a more efficient footprint.

For many travelers, this is the sweet spot: large enough to feel special, compact enough to be cozy.

The Gorgeous Suite is the entry-point into MegaRockstar and the only level I’ve personally stayed in because of price. It’s almost always the best value to get into the MegaRockstar category. I really enjoy the spacious cabin, especially the bathroom. Every time I book a Sea Terrace now I miss the bathroom, the space, and having breakfast delivered while watching the ocean. MegaRockstar completely ruined regular cabins for me – in the best possible way.

The outdoor space is awesome for hosting, with plenty of seating. Sometimes I’ll host a bunch of friends out there at once and it never feels crowded. The first thing I did on my first MegaRockstar voyage was invite seven friends over before sailaway. I had never actually watched us sail out of the port of Miami and it was such a great experience – excellent views, plenty of space – no one felt crammed, and included drinks from the bar.

The MegaRockstar suites are also very comfortable for personal lounging. It’s nice to be able to sit on the couch while watching TV or using the table – either for surfing on my laptop, eating, or organizing my items for the day. Regular cruise cabins can feel cramped but the spacious suites never do.

Dining Like A Celebrity: Priority, Perks & In-Room Options

Virgin Voyages already sets itself apart by offering all dining included. Every specialty restaurant is included in the fare: no hidden fees and no need to choose between venues. But as a MegaRockstar, things go a step further.

You’ll get priority access to restaurant reservations, which means you can lock in the best dining times without worrying about what’s already booked in the app. You also have full access to ShipEats, the line’s onboard delivery service, completely free of charge. That includes room service from The Galley and restaurant-quality meals from nearly every venue on the ship (except Gunbae and The Test Kitchen, which remain dine-in only).

The best part is that you can enjoy curated in-suite dining from places like Extra Virgin, Pink Agave, and Razzle Dazzle – plated beautifully and delivered straight to your Virgin Voyages luxury suite. It’s great for those nights when you just want to stay in your robe, open a bottle of wine, and take in the ocean from your terrace.

MegaRockstars are also invited to select wine tastings, mixology sessions, or cocktail events throughout the sailing, depending on availability. These tend to be intimate and relaxed, offering a fun way to explore something new without the crowds.

I enjoy going to the restaurants for the dining experience. I’m not much of a takeout person at home, either. I also don’t love to eat where I sleep, even if the room is huge.

It’s also clear that the restaurants reserve excellent tables for MegaRockstar sailors, like near port windows, and with comfortable booths.

The difference for me is breakfast. I would much rather have breakfast delivered to my suite and avoid the crowds in the Galley or wait time for service in the restaurants. I’m not much of a morning person, so having my eggs and coffee delivered to me is one of my indulgences!

And, like I mentioned before, anytime food delivery (aka the late night pizza) is one of my absolute favorite perks of the MegaRockstar experience.

Front-Row Entertainment: Skip Lines and Score the Best Seats

Virgin Voyages doesn’t do traditional cruise entertainment. Instead of Broadway-style revues or cruise director-led trivia marathons, you’ll find immersive shows, surprise pop-ups, edgy comedy, and late-night parties that feel more like events at a boutique hotel than a typical ship. As a MegaRockstar, you don’t just attend these moments – you’re front row for all of it.

Reserved or VIP seating is available for major performances, especially in The Red Room and The Manor, two of the ship’s most iconic venues. You’ll also get skip-the-line access at the entrance, which matters more than you think when the crowds start gathering ahead of headline shows. Whether it’s a Scarlet Night party, a secret bar experience, or a pop-up performance you hear about through a whisper, you’re always a step ahead and a step closer to the action.

There are also MegaRockstar-only mixers and private events sprinkled throughout the sailing. These are by invite only and not always listed in the app, so it’s worth staying in touch with your agent to find out what’s happening when. Most of these events are casual, social, and slightly off-the-record – more about access and ambiance than formal programming.

Virgin entertainment is popular and some shows require sailors to line up over an hour in advance for a good seat. The Rockstar priority entrance is key here. I’ve gotten into some of the most popular shows, like Lola’s Library, with the best seats in the house – all because of Rockstar skip the line.

Spa, Wellness & Onshore Experiences

If relaxation is high on your list, the MegaRockstar experience provides full access to Virgin Voyages’ spa and wellness spaces – no reservations and no extra fees. MegaRockstars enjoy complimentary entry to the Thermal Suite every day of the sailing. Normally priced at $69-79 for a three-hour session, this perk adds serious value, especially if you’re someone who loves to unwind in saunas, steam rooms, or hydrotherapy pools.

The Virgin spa is the most relaxing space on the ship. I’m not too much of a steam room/ sauna / whirlpool person, and I didn’t understand how great the experience is until I tried it. The spa also offers a mud room, showers, lounge chairs, and quartz heated benches.

Need a massage or facial? Your MegaRockstar agent can handle the booking and even adjust the timing if your plans shift. I personally really love the massages onboard and I always splurge when on longer voyages. (Sometimes there are massage combo specials on port days so pay attention to the notifications in the app! I recently got a 75-minute massage plus facial combo for $199.)

Fitness classes like yoga, HIIT, or spin are also available throughout the week, and MegaRockstars get early access to reserve spots as they are first to board.

On Bimini Beach port days, a private golf car will meet you at the ship, wisk you down to the beach club, and then return you to the ship at the end of the day.

Who Is the MegaRockstar Package For?

The MegaRockstar experience is designed for travelers who want to feel like VIPs from start to finish – and who aren’t shy about leaning into the fun. It’s an excellent fit for couples celebrating something big, whether it’s a honeymoon, anniversary, or that long-overdue kid-free getaway. It’s also ideal for luxury-focused travelers who want zero stress, no lines, and everything taken care of before they even have to ask. I’ve even sailed MegaRockstar solo – and that’s the best!

If you love the idea of priority access, front-row everything, a stocked bar that refreshes itself daily, and the ability to dine in your Virgin Voyages luxury suite while wrapped in plush robes, this package absolutely delivers. It’s also great for more social travelers who want to be in the mix without fighting crowds – because the best events, best seats, and best timing are already yours.

That said, MegaRockstar is not be the right fit for everyone. If you’re cruising on a tight budget, it’s not the best way to maximize your dollar while traveling.

Virgin Voyages typically sails roundtrip from Miami or San Juan, depending on the itinerary. Both cities are worth exploring before or after your cruise. If you’re flying into Florida, take a peek at Miami in One Day for pre-cruise ideas. Sailing from Puerto Rico? You’ll want to read Is Puerto Rico Worth Visiting? (Spoiler: it is!)

Why Book MegaRockstar Through Me

Booking a MegaRockstar suite is a big investment. When you’re spending thousands more than a standard cabin, you want to know you’re choosing the right suite, the right sailing, and getting every perk available.

That’s where I come in.

I’m a Top 30 Virgin Voyages First Mate specializing in Virgin Voyages and modern luxury cruising. I’ve personally sailed 22 Virgin Voyages cruises, including multiple sailings as a MegaRockstar, so I’m not recommending something I’ve only read about online. I’ve actually lived the experience.

That means I can help you answer questions most travel advisors simply can’t.

Should you book the Gorgeous Suite or splurge on the Posh? Is the Massive Suite actually worth the price? Which itineraries make MegaRockstar shine, and when would I honestly tell you to save your money and book Rockstar instead? I can walk you through those decisions based on firsthand experience—not sales brochures.

I also keep up with Virgin Voyages promotions and know which offers can be combined to maximize value. Whether it’s Sailor Loot, bonus bar tabs, or other available offers, I’ll make sure you’re booking under the best promotion available at the time. I also have special incentives you cannot get on your own.

And once you’re booked, my support doesn’t stop.

Need help deciding on shore excursions? Wondering which restaurants to prioritize? Unsure how to make the most of your MegaRockstar agent, spa access, or unlimited bar? Thinking about your packing list or wondering what to wear? I’ve done it all myself and can help you get the absolute most out of your sailing.

The best part?

My planning services come at no cost to you. You pay the same cruise fare whether you book directly with Virgin Voyages or through me, but when you book with me, you gain an experienced Virgin Voyages specialist in your corner before, during, and after your cruise.

If you’re considering MegaRockstar, I’d love to help you decide whether it’s the right fit—and make sure you have an unforgettable voyage.

Final Verdict: Is the MegaRockstar Experience Worth It?

MegaRockstar absolutely exceeded my expectations, as the onboard experience continued to surprise me with top-notch service.

If you’re the kind of traveler who appreciates access, ease, and a touch of theatrical luxury, the MegaRockstar experience absolutely earns its top-tier status. Virgin Voyages delivers an upscale, adult-oriented cruise experience – but this package adds another layer entirely. From the private transfers and butler service to the bottomless bar and spa access, it’s indulgent in a way that feels curated and not gimmicky.

It’s especially worth it if you plan to take full advantage of the perks: daily spa visits, priority dining and entertainment, exclusive event invites, and in-suite dining that actually feels luxurious. The service is seamless, the suite design is smart, and the extras feel intentional rather than overdone.

On the flip side, if you’re not someone who drinks much, prefers public spaces over private lounging, or wouldn’t use the spa, room service, or agent services, the Rockstar tier (or even a Sea Terrace cabin) may hit a better value mark for your style.

Still, for those looking to cruise like a VIP (and actually feel the difference at every touchpoint), MegaRockstar lives up to the promise.

If I could wish for one thing that would add to the MegaRockstar experience, it would be an outdoor private pool. There are hot tubs on Richard’s Rooftop but I’d like a cooler experience on a hot day, and sometimes they are full during happy hour.

I’d also love an omelette station. A girl can dream.

Every time I sail Virgin without MegaRockstar, I catch myself missing the little things. Having my favorite drinks already waiting in the suite. Never thinking about restaurant reservations. Walking straight onto the ship while everyone else waits. Ordering breakfast to the balcony just because I can. None of those perks sounds life-changing on its own—but together they completely change how the vacation feels. Once you’ve experienced it, it’s surprisingly hard to go back.
